In case you missed the news, after 39 years Reed Exhibitions have pulled the plug on Nepcon UK, the UK longest-running electronics event. Reed claim that the industry moving to China and India is the prime reason for its demise. Yet it is clear that the competition provided by the newly organised National Electronics Week and to a lesser extent by this week’s Southern Electronics were too much for the old timer to endure.
Quantum CAD will be exhibiting at National Electronics Week (NEW) at London's Earl Court On 17th-19th of June 08. We hope that NEW will be a success but this is yet to be seen.
National Electronics Week was conceived to provide an event that showcases every aspect of the electronics market including the latest innovations in electronic design, silicon, hardware systems, software design, components, test tools, assembly equipment, production systems, contract manufacturing services and distribution. So far there are 150 companies exhibiting at the show. Event's like this help us meet face to face with our existing and potential customers.
Quantum CAD realises that having two large electronics shows in the U.K. is not sustainable and one of them had to be cancelled. Let's hope New Electronics Week will be a success and attract more visitors than Nepcon.
