National Electronics Week 2010 – weaker than ever?

Well, NEW 2010 in Birmingham has closed its doors, and I have to say, we have been very disappointed with the show this year.

The visitors who DID make it, commented that they wondered where the carpet was and had to bear witness to a couple of exhibition stands still being erected! Not something you want to see when you’ve come a long way to conduct business with the elite of the electronics industry…

It looked like a number of exhibitors had dropped out last minute. I wonder whether this was due to the lack of marketing of the show, or just a sign of the economically challenging times we are living in?

All in all, quite a small event, considering it’s supposed to be THE show for the British electronics industry…Where were all the visitors? A sign of the times?

All you need to do is book an appointment with one of our design experts, bring along your PCB design files or physical boards, and we will advise on issues including

• reverse engineering
• signal integrity
• pre-design studies
• electromagnetic compatibility
• reliability testing
• quality management
• compliance

The feedback will highlight potential design for manufacturability, test and assembly issues and suggest modifications. The ‘doctors’ will also advise on the impact of new technology and components on the designs.

Just bear in mind that similar to the NHS, booking an appointment is necessary, but there are no lengthy waiting lists, and ‘patients’ will go home with a definite diagnosis and treatment plan.
