In today’s world the technology we are using is always changing and improving. Now it seems our cars and car makers are getting in on the act as the development of Connected Car’s is really beginning to take off.
Connected cars may look normal on the outside but on the inside they are in a different league compared with other cars. Connected cars are fitted with the latest infotainment available and this includes speech recognition and internet connection with both Wi-Fi and 3G.
In a recent survey taken by 200 car company executives, more than a third of those asked believe that infotainment in cars is nearly as important as car safety.
The reason that connected cars are becoming more apparent is because at the moment they are the third-fastest growing technological device available in the world today. As the first two fastest growing technological device spots in the world are smartphones and tablets.
Some of the first big car companies to develop connected cars are Toyota and Audi. Toyota have recently signed a deal and entered a partnership with the chip making giant Intel to develop their connected car.
But Audi have gone one step further and have developed a built-in 3G wireless capability in its new A7 range, which then they believe will be able to extend it to their other new models.
But what do you think?
Are connected cars the way forward?
